Song of our time - The irony and hypocrisy
Fergie - London Bridge

All my girls get down on the floor,
Back to back, drop it down real low.
I’m such a lady, but I’m dancing like a ho,
‘Cause you know
I don’t give a f***, so here we go!
The Pussycat Dolls Featuring Big Snoop Dogg - Buttons
I don't even want to put the lyrics here. The song is that sick. Feel free to contaminate yourself by reading the lyrics at http://www.completealbumlyrics.com/lyric/128879/The+Pussycat+Dolls+Featuring+Big+Snoop+Dogg+-+Buttons.html
Ashlee Simpson - La la

You make me wanna la lain the kitchen on the floor
I'll be your french maid
Where I'll meet you at the door
I'm like an alley cat
Drink the milk up
I want more
You make me wanna
You make me wanna scream
You can meet me on an airplane
Or in the back of the bus
You can throw me like a boom-a-rang
I'll come back and beat you up
So basically, if i was a brainless git, all the entertainment i wold get from the above songs would teach me that women are sex toys and have no dignity whatsoever. In fact, they love being used and treated like an object. What joy do people get listening to such sick fantasies? Oh pardon me...they are not fantasies, its a projection of what really happens in certain developed nations. Such role models don't you think? Someone youth who listen to these songs can really look up to? The singers? Actually, i think what they're trying to say is that they're only good for one thing. And i'm pretty sure its true.
To provide a stark contrast ...presenting a feminist group.
Harnessing the power of the Internet, Feminist.com serves girls and women, and the people and organizations working to empower and sustain them. Feminist.com provides free and easy access to quality information related to issues impacting girls and women, and helps connect them to the many useful and varied organizations serving their needs across the country and throughout the world. As a library, a promoter of activism, a networking engine, and an Internet home for women worldwide, Feminist.com advances women-friendly organizations, increases civic involvement, promotes self-sufficiency, spiritual health and general wellness, and works for equality, justice, and safety for all girls and women.
I'm not really much of a feminist but i don't really think that the Western media, or rather, Hollywood is doing much for the 'safety' and etc of girls and women? Especially when it is bent on portraying them as disposable objects to satisfy desire. I'm sure American girls are feeling so much safer. Whadya think Fergie?
The following is one of the worst hypocritical 'group' i've seen...nah, heard.I've just put the lyrics of two of their songs. I'm hoping you'll understand the irony behind it. If you don't please stop reading my blog. Its full of irony. We are..of course, assuming that someone who sings something believes in it.
Black Eyed Peas - My Humps
What you gon do with all that junk
All tha
t junk inside that trunkIma get get get get you drunk
Get you love drunk off my hump.
What u gon do with all that a**
All that a** inside them jeans
Im a make make make make you scream
Make u scream make you scream.
Black Eyed Peas - Where is the love?
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah
Badness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all
So, the same 'eminent' people who can rap/sing about social problems to create awareness are also so very proficient in rapping/singing about the female private parts.
There you have it folks...the songs of our time. Plunge into an oceanful of loose morals, superficiality and utter nonsense.
