Forgiving your enemies

Toward the end of the service, the Minister asked, "How many of you have forgiven your enemies?" 80% held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except one small elderly lady.

"Mrs. Jones? Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"

"I don't have any," she replied, smiling sweetly.

"Mrs. Jones, that is very unusual. How old are you?" "Ninety-eight," she replied.

"Oh, Mrs. Jones, would you please come down in front and tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years & not have an enemy in the world?"

The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation, and said:

"I outlived the bitches."

Wake-up call

'Brits too lazy to compete with India' -

One reason why i love this article so much is because its soo true. You may not realise it but the whole affair reminds me if the rabbit's and turtle's story. Anyway...i think it's too late for a wake-up call...we've risen too much. Payback for two hundred years of forceful colonialisation.

Sonia Gandhi steps down as Lok Sabha member

Sonia Gandhi steps down as Lok Sabha member - A chance for new and local uprising or the removal of good leadership?

My input: I think this move was inevitable. Her party blames Jaya Bachan for holding an office of profit and making her resign and being so crafty, ignore the fact that Sonia Gandhi herself holds one. What's the insane part is that they proposed to promulgate an ordinance to modify the law book and redefine an 'office of profit'. Is she really worth changing that for?

Now...i don't think majority of the Indians are very bothered by this. We are more worried about how Sensex is going to take this...

Polling gone mad

Polls. They're such a great way of finding out what exactly people want and what they're thinking. I recently came across this poll conducted by Yahoo Singapore, the exact question being - Majority (55%) of the 110,800 jobs created last year went to Singapore citizens and PRs, do you think this is fair? So obviously the majority of the population voted for the stance that foreigners were taking away they're jobs. Shouldn't they wonder why? There has to be a reason why they aren't getting the higher-end jobs, right? Talk about sour grapes...

11 killed in US raid in Baghdad

It's bad enough to wage war on a country claiming that its to 'cleanse' the country of wrong-doers...while the real agenda is just oil, oil and more oil. What's even more horrendous is the killing of innocent folk. I agree that life's not always fair but what did they do to deserve to die by 'accident'? Eventually, this world runs by the thinking that - If you have power and money, whatever you do is right. If not so, why aren't all the countries making a fuss of the situation in Iraq? For goodness sake, the country was probably more stable under Saddam's rule than it is now. Anyway, you know what else...by the time the 'Bush administration' would have left Iraq...they would have lost too much to recover. Isn't it amazing how responsible and mature Americans are? Imagine voting for Bush, who was pushing for wars against terror and the like, and not Kerry, who was more for medical and education matters! It's not like they're so rich that they don't need social security you know...America's debt runs in the trillions. But well...i guess as long as you have people with microscopic brains around, who love sadistic pleasure...well...i just think that they are more terrifying than terrorists themselves.

Starving children

Speech by Thomas Friedman of the New York Times....

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat ourVegetables at dinner and not to leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the Starving children in India and finish the dinner.'

And now I tell my children: 'Finish your math's homework. Think of thechildren in India who would make you starve, if you don't'

Drinking out of the toilet bowl

An American school girl recently won a science project for proving that the toilet water of fast food joints is actually cleaner as compared to the ice that they put in our drinks. To put it simply, it contains more bacteria.

As i read this piece of information that i really did not need to know...well, besides the fact that i felt like puking...i was shocked at the realisation that we are exposed to soo much everytime we eat out. But i guess there isn't much we can change ourselves. Till then...well, toilet water might not be that bad after all. Hehe...
