Bonds...

Oscar-nominated British actor Clive Owen (right) was first in line to take the role of Bond in Casino Royale, which , instead, went to Daniel Craig (left) .

Tell me...does it make a difference??! Neither of them qualify as eye candy.

Although i have to appreciate the fact that the Casino Royale director did try to salvage the situation by focusing more on his abs than on his face. Didn't work that much though...he still looks like a construction worker who had mistakenly taken up the wrong job

It could have been worse

Frank always looked on the bright side. He would constantly irritate his friends with his eternal optimism. No matter how horrible the circumstance, he would always reply, "It could have been worse." To cure him of his annoying habit, his friends decided to invent a situation so completely bad, so terrible, that even Frank could find no hope in it.

On the golf course one day, one of them said, "Frank, did you hear about Tom? He came home last night, found his wife in bed with another man, shot them both and then turned the gun on himself!"

"That`s awful," said Frank, "But it could have been worse."

"How in the hell," asked his bewildered friend, "Could it have been worse?"

"Well," replied Frank, "If it happened the night before, I`d be dead now!"

In all fairness

The Singapore government, in their latest bid to draw a distinct line between Singaporeans, PRs and foreigners, have increased the costs of healthcare and education for foreigners and PRs. I understand why they do not want to subsidize the foreigners...after all, they are not contributing to the money that subsidizes the costs. All they contribute to is the workforce and a cosmopolitan society. PRs on the other hand, i feel, are being taken advantage of. Or perhaps its just another way to force us to take citizenship.

Their argument is that we shouldn't receive the subsidies since we don't belong to this country. Pardon me...but we happen to pay the income taxes that go into providing those subsidies. So basically...what they what is for us to pay so that the locals have a good life. Nice.

I do not mind the government trying to draw a distinction. But since they are already trying to draw that, perhaps they should also reconsider the fact that PRs still have to serve NS. If you don't consider them part of this country enough to receive the subsidies they pay for...why expect them to give up two years of their youth serving a country they are not loyal to.

Alas...i'm starting to feel the great need to pack my bags and leave.

Down with the green?

I just came across this website and had to blink a dozen times to make sure what i was seeing was right. No..it wasn't a pornographic website. It was a website dedicated to hating cilantro. In case you don't know what it is...presenting cilantro...

Oh my goodness! Isn't it soo harmful that it deserves an entire website with 1140 members to speak up against it?

Welcome! You are visiting the web site of a growing community of cilantro haters. We are, however, rational people. In fact, we are the most rational people on earth. No normally functioning human being would ever in a lifetime consider cilantro edible.

The above was written on their website. Hmm...you spend your time speaking up against a common garden vegetable and say you're rational. Err...sure. Right. Readers, apparently, its not going to be long before greens become man's worst enemy. So...lets bring out the nuclear weapons, shall we?
